Raymond is a self taught painter from the east end of London. The last child in a large house of 8 children, he was born into a frenetic household but spent most of his days in his garden exploring plants and wildlife. He recollects spending long hours gazing into the sky and venturing into nearby Wanstead flats which is a large dedicated parkland situated within Epping Forest.
Raymond says his love for nature was inspired by his early musings where he spent many hours alone exploring. His artwork which often references nature consciously and subconsciously is motivated by his deep spirituality. Raymond finds enrichment through investigation, research, art endeavour and collaboration; creating a catalyst for new dialogue and inspiration. His current work examines iconography and the depiction of women, and power in relation to women.
Raymond attended the University of East London where he received a BA Hons Degree in Visual Theories (Art History & Criticism). Raymond currently works out of his studio in South East London working as an artist/curator and project coordinator.
